              HANDS ON WORKSHOP- “ALGORITHMIA NEXUS: A DATA SCIENCE
                                  AND MACHINE LEARNING WORKSHOP”




               The Departments of Information Technology, Information Technology
            and Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences came
            together on Friday, November 24, 2023, to host Algorithmia Nexus: A
            Data Science and Machine Learning Workshop. Held in Lab 823/24 in
            collaboration with Ducat, New Delhi, the event offered hands-on insights
            into AI and ML.
               The workshop featured Mr. Rohit Pahwa, a data science expert from
            Ducat, who led an engaging session on the practical applications and
            impact of AI and ML. Prof. (Dr.) M. L. Sharma, Head of the IT Department,
            welcomed attendees, highlighting the critical role of AI in engineering
            and the future workforce. Prof. (Dr.) Amita Goel, Head of the ITE
            Department, further emphasized the growing relevance of data science
            and machine learning in today's tech-driven world. This collaborative
            initiative provided students with invaluable exposure to cutting-edge technologies, fostering a vibrant learning environment.
               Mr. Rohit Pahwa led an engaging session on the transformative potential of AI and ML, demonstrating their power to
            reshape industries, streamline processes, and solve complex challenges. Through practical AI scenarios, he illustrated the
            technologies' far-reaching impact on society and the economy, inspiring over 100 eager students from various disciplines.
               The workshop was expertly organized by Er. Ajay Kr. Kaushik and Dr. Sunil Maggu, Assistant Professors in IT, with
            valuable support from Er. Varun Goel (ITE), Dr. Anshu Khurana (AI & DS), and Mr. Surinder Bhardwaj, Assistant Network
            Engineer. The collaborative efforts of faculty and lab staff ensured a seamless and impactful learning experience.  

               On October 17, 2023, the Department of Information Technology organized a virtual workshop
            titled "Career Readiness and Soft Skills: A One-Day Workshop." The event, led by Ms. Meenu Garg,
            featured Mr. Uddish Verma, a Product Engineer at Intercom and proud alumnus of the IT Department.
            Drawing from his experience, Mr. Verma offered valuable insights on career readiness, emphasizing
            the importance of goal-setting, team dynamics, and continuous skill development in the IT field.
               The session included a live Q&A, moderated by Prof. M.L. Sharma and Dr. Vasudha Bahl, where
            students actively engaged with the speaker. Dr. Bahl concluded the workshop with a Vote of Thanks,
            acknowledging the organizers' contributions.
               Attended by over 40 aspiring IT engineers, the workshop received positive feedback for its focus on essential career and
            soft skills, particularly for those pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship in IT. The event, supported by the IT Department's
            Technical Society, adhered to G20 activity guidelines and benefited from the guidance of Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Shri
            Vineet Kumar Lohia, Prof. Neelam Sharma, and key faculty members. The coordinators, Ms. Meenu Garg and Dr. Vasudha
            Bahl, ensured a well-organized, enriching experience.                                                     
